The GP Suite is delighted to invite applications for a Salaried GP for up to 8 sessions per week, with a view to partnership after 6 months. This role would suit either an experienced GP seeking a fresh challenge or a newly qualified GP looking to thrive in a supportive environment and develop management skills. Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will be expected to undertake the full range of duties and responsibilities normally associated with a General Practitioner working in primary care; manage a patient caseload and address a broad range of health needs within a primary care setting, ensuring excellent standards of care for both registered and temporary patients.
Clinical duties will include allocated on-call sessions, face-to-face and telephone consultations, responding to clinical queries, undertaking home visits when required and managing acute and repeat prescriptions. The role also includes completing associated paperwork and correspondence in a timely and effective manner.
Job Description
The post holder will exercise professional judgement and make autonomous clinical decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare professionals within the organisation. This includes assessing and managing patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions. Working collaboratively with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, the post holder will develop, implement and review appropriate care plans.
The post holder will maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records in accordance with agreed standards, compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, and prescribe in line with the practice formulary, using generic prescribing where clinically appropriate.
