Oxford Terrace & Rawling Road Medical Group - Salaried GP
Competitive salary | Sessons negotiable | 15-minute appointments
Large multidisciplinary team | Supportive working environment
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our friendly, forward-thinking practice in Gateshead.
Oxford Terrace & Rawling Road Medical Group is a busy, well-established practice operating across two sites. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to patient care, our supportive working environment and the breadth of skills and experience within our team.
Why join us?
One of the real benefits of working at Oxford Terrace & Rawling Road is our large and experienced multidisciplinary team. Our GPs work alongside an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, a dedicated pharmacy team, practice nurses, nursing associates, healthcare assistants, frailty nurses, social prescribing link workers and an experienced management and administrative team.
This team-based approach allows us to make the best use of everyone's skills, ensuring patients are seen by the most appropriate clinician while supporting our GPs to focus on the work that needs their expertise.
We have introduced a total triage system, helping us to manage patient demand more effectively, prioritise clinical need and direct patients to the right care.
We offer 15-minute GP appointments, with a typical working day consisting of 14 appointments in the morning and 9 in the afternoon. We recognise the importance of giving clinicians sufficient time with patients and providing a manageable, well-structured working day.
We also place a real emphasis on supporting one another. Our GPs and other staff meet each day for coffee and discussion, providing an opportunity to catch up, discuss clinical cases, share advice and enjoy some time together as colleagues. We believe this is an important part of maintaining a friendly, supportive practice culture where nobody feels they are working in isolation.
We offer a varied and interesting clinical workload, with opportunities to develop specialist interests and contribute to the wider development of the practice.
About the role
The successful candidate will undertake a range of general practice duties, including face-to-face and telephone consultations, participation in our total triage system and a weekly care home ward round.
We are also keen to support clinical education and development. An interest in dermatology would also be particularly advantageous. We would welcome applications from GPs with existing dermatology experience or those who are keen to develop their knowledge and skills in this area.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a GP who enjoys working collaboratively, values continuity of care and wants to contribute to the ongoing development of general practice.
We are particularly keen to recruit a GP who has a genuine interest in care home medicine and enjoys working with older people and patients with complex health needs. The role includes a weekly care home ward round, providing an opportunity to build relationships with residents, care home staff and the wider multidisciplinary team, while supporting continuity of care.
We would particularly welcome applications from GPs who are already accredited trainers or who would be interested in becoming a GP Trainer.
