TEMPLATE LETTERS

Ratified and approved / supported by Gateshead and South Tyneside LMC

A set of template letters that aim to build upon the good work done by the BMA in 2017; Gateshead & South Tyneside LMC have updated these to reflect the fact that, nearly seven years since secondary care contractual responsibilities were clarified, work continues to be moved, unresourced and without agreement onto General Practice.

Please feel free to use these to reject such work, sending them as appropriate. We would, of course, be delighted to be copied in to any such template letters sent, as long as patient details are redacted, in order that we can be kept aware of the extent of the unresourced/unagreed work-transfer issue.

Also included are templates that can be sent to the ICB, should you see fit, a template for following up on information/payment non-receipt, a cessation of services template and a boilerplate to attach/send alongside referrals.
