Vacancy: GP - Mayfield Medical Centre

Come work in the historically important town of Jarrow, within the South Tyneside district; a coastal town with famous beaches, soaring cliffs and a short commute from central Newcastle!

With both the A1 and the Tyne Tunnel within a few minutes drive away, and a nearby Metro stop, there are excellent transport routes, mostly against the flow of rush hour traffic.

We are looking for a 6 session GP (though more or less will be considered), salaried role, or long-term locum initially, with a potential for partnership.

We are a supportive, friendly, resilient, well established, and expanding practice. The team consists 3 full time GPs and 4 amazing NPs, supported by excellent management, reception and administrative teams, Practice Nurses with individual interests, up-skilled HCAs, and enthusiastic FY2s, all with a plethora of individual special interests and skills, serving a list size of 9500 patients.

Low admin, very low home visit rates, full EPS prescribing. Flexible working, including telephone triage if you wish to partake. Our GP’s finish on time.

Our supportive environment focuses on teaching and training: both for our staff, and our patients who have realistic expectations. One of our GPs is the Clinical Director of the local PCN, another is vice chair of the Local Medical Committee, and another has a strong presence in local and international maritime health.

Our ethos is to focus on excellent patient-centred primary care, by ensuring we don’t take on unfunded secondary care work, and by managing our resources in a carefully organised way.

Lots of social gatherings within the practice family: coffee every midmorning, lunches out where possible, and nights out happen regularly.

Salary is experience-dependent, and very favourable! Indemnity included.

Come see for yourself!
