Job summary


Opportunity for 2 sessions (remote working available) Shared Care Salaried GP


We are looking for a salaried GP who will work closely with the primary care mental health practitioners including independent prescribing nurses and clinical pharmacists with a specialist interest in Neurodevelopmental assessment and treatment.


This post will be for 2 sessions per week and is based in primary care, working for the GP federation on EMIS enterprise (STEPS) which gives access to all GP practice systems across South Tyneside.


Main duties of the job


The post holder will provide general practice input into the process of initial screening, referral for neurodevelopmental assessment, and ongoing support in the form of shared care with secondary care providers. They will have input into the physical health monitoring of people with mental illness and neuro developmental disorder including those with eating disorders where the patient remains under the care of specialist community teams. They will provide medical input, support and supervision for other members of the primary care mental health service where needed.


The post covers both adults and children.
