Pelaw Medical Practice: Salaried GP

Pelaw Medical Practice are looking to recruit a Salaried GPs 3-4 Sessions Per Week to start this Autumn, with the option of future partnership.

We are a friendly welcoming training practice currently consisting of 2 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs.

We have a culture of working and problem solving as a team. Discussions around clinical and organisational issues are strongly encouraged, both on an ad-hoc basis and in our twice weekly practice meetings. You will always find someone in the staff room available for support, or just a chat and a hot drink. Supporting each other to maintain positive well-being and a healthy work-life balance are important aspects of our practice ethos.

We are committed to training and teaching with two GP trainers. We also teach medical students from Newcastle University at a variety of stages and all staff are encouraged to be involved with teaching.

We currently hold a Minor Surgery Contract with Gateshead CCG.  We offer this service to all Gateshead Practices.  We accept referrals for Lumps & Bumps, Vasectomies, and in growing Toenails.  We have GPs in house who provide this service as well as GPs who come from other local Practices.

We have strong links within our East Gateshead PCN and in the past two years have worked at scale to help deliver the vaccine programme and look forward to further collaboration in future. We already have 4 Community Link Workers, a Pharmacist, a Pharmacy Technician, and a Primary Care Mental Health Worker, with other roles currently being developed.

We have embraced the changes brought about by the pandemic and are continuously evolving how we are working to provide the best service for our patients whilst maintaining a happy and supported team.

We are keen to support colleagues with development of additional clinical interests and would love to hear what skills or services you would like to bring to the practice in the future.
