Integrated General Practitioner Career Post

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an integrated GP career post, working part-time in primary care and part-time at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust. This post offers a valuable opportunity for a GP to extend their skills and experience in the adult community team within the mental health trust.

The Gateshead GP Federation is working in partnership with Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust to help to promote recruitment and retention of Doctors into general practice in Gateshead and provide a supportive training and development environment for GPs with mentor support in practice.

The integrated GP post is structured as follows:

  • Work part-time as part of a Primary Care team in a general practice in Gateshead to provide general medical services (including home visits and on call duties) managing a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs

  • Work part-time in adult Community Treatment Team with Cumbria Northumberland Tyne and Wear Mental Health Trust (3 sessions of service delivery and 1 session educational/developmental within CNTW).

The post is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an integrated approach for Gateshead and includes protected time for education and development. The post holder will have allocated mentors in both the primary and mental health care settings and this would be an ideal post for a GP that has qualified within the last 5 years.

The post holder will work in a Gateshead GP Practice and a decision on which Practice will be discussed with the candidates during the recruitment process. The Practice will be the employer for the post.

Closing date 16th March 2020
